Crystal Rhinestone Hair Barrette

Hair barrette in dark antique gold with one crystal white rhinestone in a prong setting. This barrette finding is 60mm (about 2.4") long.

This hair barrette has a lovely pattern in what looks like a work of granulation, a technique where you make patterns by arranging tiny beads of precious metal into beautifully textured designs. This technique was invented by the Etruscans who lived in Italy between about 500 BC and 270 BCE, at which time their kingdom of Etruria was assimilated into the Roman empire.
